Welcome to the Evansville-Area Human Resource Association, Inc., an affiliate chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. We are the leading professional association for human resource professionals in the tri-state area of Southwestern Indiana, Kentucky, and Southern Illinois.

We are excited to announce that the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) recently awarded the Evansville Human Resources Association the prestigious EXCEL Gold Award for the chapter's accomplishments in 2016! Thank you to our members, and our Board of Directors, for helping us achieve this designation!

EHRA Certification Scholarship

Program Summary:

 EHRA will be welcoming a very special guest to speak on Indiana’s renewed effort on inclusion of our disabled citizens!  Following this guest, EHRA will host a panel discussion regarding the challenges and opportunities employers face when hiring and employing disabled workers. 

Special Guest:

EHRA is excited to host special guest Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch on July 17, 2017!  Throughout her years of dedicated service, one of Lt. Governor Crouch’s greatest passions and personal missions has been to improve and elevate the lives of Hoosiers with disabilities.  Please join us to learn about state-level policy initiates and developments impacting the lives of disabled Hoosiers and HR professionals!

Panel Members:

Ben Trockman, Employment and Outreach Specialist at Old National Bank

 A graduate of the University of Southern Indiana, Trockman joined Old National Bank in 2014 as Community Outreach and Employment Specialist. Ben has been challenged to assist Old National to become a leader in disability employment and inclusion through education and awareness, while working to enhance recruiting efforts and rethinking the hiring processes to successfully recruit, on-board and employ people with disabilities.

Ben is active within the disability advocacy community, and works with legislators in Washington DC and Indianapolis to improve employment opportunities, airline accessibility and healthcare options for people with disabilities. He previously served as a National Ambassador for Easter Seals.

 In 2015, Trockman was presented with the “Spirit of Ability Award” by BraunAbility in recognition of his efforts at Old National. In July 2016, Ben was nominated as an “Honorary Torchbearer” for the Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay. Most recently, Ben was presented with the “Individual Achievement Award” by Leadership Evansville.

 Andy Imlay, Chairman of the Evansville-Vanderburgh Advisory Board on Disability Services

 Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 18 months Andy has never been one to sit on the sidelines. Being employed by Holiday World from 1999-2003 with one of those roles of their very first I.T. Intern. Since 2004, Andy has been employed by PC Quest on Morgan Ave. He serves as the 2017 Adult Ambassador for Easter Seals Southwestern Indiana as well as Chairman of the Evansville-Vanderburgh Advisory Board on Disability Services. 

Tracy Strickler, Manager of Community Job Link at Arc of Evansville

 Tracy Stricker is a Purdue graduate with a BA in communications. Prior to coming to Arc in 2013 as the Manager of Community Job Link, Tracy started her nonprofit career as the Regional Director for the American Heart Association for 13 years and the Community Representative for the American Cancer Society for three and ½ years.  Tracy’s responsibilities at The Arc of Evansville as the Manager of CJL are to promote competitive community employment for individuals with disabilities.  She provides leadership to Employment Specialists, Job Development Specialists as well as Job and Career Coaches.  Currently, over 70 clients are served in CJL including a staff person who works with the EVSC high schools assisting students with disabilities in locating employment.  She counts as one of her biggest triumphs as seeing a client obtain their first paycheck.   Tracy is married and has two Labrador fur babies, River and Jetty.

EHRA will be participating in the Clean Evansville anti-litter campaign on August 5, 2017!  Clean Evansville is a joint effort between the City of Evansville, Keep Evansville Beautiful, and volunteer members of the “Clean Committee”.  Our goal is to involve the entire community in picking up trash, as well as targeting specific areas for clean-up on a monthly basis.  Clean Evansville will be targeting Riverside Drive on August 5th, from 8am-10am. 

EHRA is seeking members to volunteer in this activity!
